Supercomputers
The JPL Supercomputing and Visualization Facility operates a variety of
supercomputers:
- A Dell cluster, which is a 1024-CPU Intel Xeon-based
distributed-memory system, running Linux.

- Three SGI Altix 3000 machines, which are Intel Itanium2-based shared-memory
systems, running Linux. More information can be found here:

Engineers and scientists at JPL can get access to these machines at no
charge.
Mass Storage
The JPL SVF provides users with ample space for storing their datasets, which
can often be very large. These include the user's home directory, a temporary
directory
and a directory on the tape backup system. Users may store their data in
the system that best meets their needs. More information about the mass storage

Visualization
The JPL SVF provides users with visualization resources to enable them to
view high-resolution images of their data at animation speeds. More information
